Pool Above the Falls - swim here
4/28/2021: "Toto, I don't think we're in Bryce Canyon anymore." A short out and back over smooth, sandy rock terrain to a beautiful little waterfall. Hike to both the top and bottom of the falls. Long views of Calf Creek Canyon. Few trees. Swim at the head of the falls if you can stand the chilly water. Follow the cairns; much of the trail is over rock. Use Driving Directions to trailhead because it is not marked on the road.
Marg’s Notes: To Boulder, Utah. BLM land. Cold again in the morning as we packed up. Left ~9:30 am. Beautiful drive along Highway 12! Gassed up in Tropic before we headed out. Arrived at Calf Creek Campground between 10:30 & 11:00. Campground looked full, but as we came thru we saw some people breaking camp! 😊 So we got site #11. A large site; nice but no shade. Set up & had some lunch. People kept driving thru looking for a site. A nice couple asked if we knew of any sites & if they could park in our site. We said sure. They were named Megan & Mark. We took off to Upper Calf Creek falls. Had a bit of a time finding it, but was worth it. Very steep down rock to start! The falls were beautiful. we went to both the top & bottom then out. The climb up was not too bad. 2½-3 miles. Came back & had BEER. Warmer this afternoon. Then Megan & Mark joined us for Happy Hour. Fun.
We ended up having chips, salsa, celery & Pnut Butter for dinner!
